PowerSouth is owned and governed by its 20 distribution member systems, who distribute energy to more than 480,000 residential, commercial and industrial end-use members.
Since 1941, when the members formed PowerSouth, then Alabama Electric Cooperative, our mission has been to safely, reliably and affordably provide energy for the people who depend on us. Now, 84 years later, the mission is the same, but a new set of challenges, largely outside our control, threaten our collective ability to keep the lights on.
Staying Power represents our unflinching resolve. It speaks to our history and secures our future. It is a reminder to ourselves and the people we serve that no matter the obstacle, we have the capacity to overcome.
